How to Install EzSeries - EzServer, EzDent-i, Ez3d-i

The Following guide is provided to assist in installing a site with either new or existing software. Please ensure this process is handled by a certified IT consultant to handle all aspects of the installation process.

While this task is very simple we do recommend that only IT consultants follow these guides to ensure proper upgrade occurs and all data is retained.


 

A. Understanding Software versions:

In order to ensure you are updating and installing the proper versions, use the following break down to determine the proper verison combinations to use.

New Version support list: Must update all software to matching versions as follows or newer* on Server Location (Where database is installed), Capture PC, Workstations.

Current Version:

EzServer: 5.5.0.2 (Service Version)

-Must Update EzDent-i Version 3.5.0.3

-Must update Ez3D-i to version 5.5.0

-Must update 3DDX Sender to version 1.2.0

-Must update Davis Toolkit to version 2.2.14

File manager Use Port: 43112

Note: Must reboot after upgrading or installing this version.

Proceed to Section B for latest version download links.

NOTICE:Before updating to EzServer version 5.1.1 (Or Newer) the clinic must already be on version - 4.1 or Higher before updating.

Older versions upgrading steps: IF site is on a previous version they must update to 2.3.4 to version 3.0.8  then update to 4.1 then to 5.1.1 series or higher.

-Must Update EzDent-i Version 3.4.5

-Must update Ez3D-i to version 5.4.8

-Must update 3DDX Sender to version 1.2.0

-Must update Davis Toolkit to version 2.2.14

EzServer: 5.3.1 (Service Version)

-Must Update EzDent-i Version 3.4.0

-Must update Ez3D-i to version 5.4.5

-Must update 3DDX Sender to version 1.2.0

-Must update Davis Toolkit to version 2.2.13

File manager Use Port: 43112

Note: Must reboot after upgrading or installing this version.

 

EzServer: 5.2 (Service Version)

-Must Update EzDent-i Version 3.3.1.0

-Must update Ez3D-i to version 5.4.0

-Must update 3DDX Sender to version 1.2.0

-Must update Davis Toolkit to version 2.2.13

File manager Use Port: 43112

Note: Must reboot after upgrading or installing this version.

Vatech Recommends updating to latest version* however the following previous support list for older clients not wishing to update*

 

EzServer: 4.1.6 (Service Version)

-Must Update EzDent-i Version 3.1.11

-Must update Ez3D-i to version 5.2.12

-Must update 3DDX Sender to version 1.2.0

-Must update Davis Toolkit to version 2.2.8



File manager Use Port: 43112

Note: Must reboot after upgrading or installing this version.

EzServer: 4.1.4 (Service Version)

-Must Update EzDent-i Version 3.1.5

-Must update Ez3D-i to version 5.2.8

Use Port: 43112

Note: Must reboot after upgrading or installing this version.

Note: When updating from version 3.0.8 to 4.1.0 - Port number can be unchanged. If any issue occurs change part to 43112.

 



End Life support:

EZserver: 3.0.7 (Service Version)

-Must update EzDent-i version 3.0.8.0

-Must update Ez3D-i to version 5.2.1

Use Port: 55005

Note: Must restart after installation.



Previous versions must use the following combination or OLDER unless you update

EZserver: 2.3.4.0 (Non-Service Version)

-Must use EzDent-i version 2.3.5 or Older

-Must use Ez3D-i version 5.0.2 or Older

Use Port: 55001 (Default)

 


 

B. Download Installation / update files:

Downloads are availilbe on Vatech America's website under service and support and Common links.

Core Programs:

EzServer Download: -Donwload EzServer, Consult Data, Implant Database & Davis ToolKit if applicable.

EzDent-i Download -Download EzDenti Installation 

Ez3d-i Download Download Ez3D-i Installation (3D Devices Only)

 

If you are installing software for an exsiting site; you can locate the installers typically found on the Capture PC in "Vatech Software" Folder; or network share if you have saved copies; if not locate the version and download from the links above.

In order to ensure you are updating and installing the proper versions, use the following break down to determine the proper verison combinations to use. You can locate the version by opening each software.

-EzServer: Locate the Green Server Symbol in the task tray, right click and click About.

-EzDent-i: Click the "EzDent-i Logo and then click about.

-Ez3D-i: Click the "Menu" option and click about.

C. Backing up the database.

If* this is a new installation continue to set D.

If* this is an existing installation / update or reinstallation - and there is a database in place:  we advise that you first Backup the database by following the Backup Documentation Guide located here.
It is required that a full and complete backup is made and confirmed before proceeding.

 


 

D. Software Installation:

All can be ran as update over the top of existing version by Clinical IT. No additional support is normally required however -  Vatech America can assist with updating EzServer and Capture PC; however Clinic IT will be required to ensure working backup is in place before updating and also assisting with updating Workstations.


EzServer:
 

For existing sites you will not need to install Ezserver; unless you are upgrading. To update the EzServer after the required backup is completed; please follow the upgrade guide located here.

To install EzServer new, you will want to choose a location such as the Capture PC or Main office server for the database and fileserver to be located at. Ensure that proper backups can run nightly in accordance  data retention regulations.

  • Locate the downloaded EzServer installation files
  • Right Click on the Setup Wizard and click "Run as Administrator"
  • You will then be prompted to install, click OK and next all the way through.
  • Once EzServer has updated; you will then want to install the Consult Data and Implant database. Simply Right click and Run-As Admin.
  • When installing the Implant Database during the setup wizard select all implant manufactures desired or 'Select All' to install all.
  • Once you have installed the EzServer is you wish to move the bulk data storage path - please follow the following guide to Repoint the Data File path.

Installation of EzDent-i

To install EzDenti on the Capture PC* and Workstations*:

  • Locate the downloaded EZDent-i  installation files
  • Right Click on the Setup Wizard and click "Run as Administrator"
  • You will then be prompted to install step by step, click OK and next all the way through.
  • If prompted to select the installation type you will choose the following:
    Workstation or Console (Capture PC) select the proper type based on the station you are on.
    Note: All stations OTHER than the Capture PC are considered 'Workstation' type.
  • After update is finished; you will need to Run EzDent-i from the desktop launcher.
  • When prompted at startup point to the IP address of Server (If remote) or  127.0.0.1 if the data base is local on the Capture PC*.

  • You will be prompted to register the software, if you do not have licesnces you can choose 'Try this Software for 30-Days"; however if you have the licenses please follow the Activation guide:

    Note: If upgrading to latest special versions you will also need to update the License key obtained from Vatech Sales

  • To Activate key Using either the backup key deactivated (if applicapble) or the updated key obtained from Vatech Sales. - please follow the Activation / Deactivation guide here.

 

Installing Ez3D-i

Note: Only install Ez3D-i if your device captures 3D Images; for 2D Pano/Ceph or Sensor only devices you do not need to install this software.

All specifications must be met in order for this software to operate properly. Please verify the PC specifications meets or exceeds as oulined

  • Locate the downloaded Ez3D-i  installation files
  • Right Click on the Setup Wizard and click "Run as Administrator"
  • You will then be prompted to install, click OK and next all the way through.
  • After update is finished; you will need to Run Ez3d-i from the desktop launcher.
  • When prompted at startup point to the IP address of Server (If remote) or  127.0.0.1 if the data base is local on the Capture PC*. You can follow instructions here if you run into any issues How to Configure Ez3D-i
  • To Activate key Using either the backup key deactivated (if applicapble) or the updated key obtained from Vatech Sales. - please follow the Activation / Deactivation guide here.
